GOD ALMIGHTY
Gen. 17:1
„Abram was ninety-nine years old, when YHWH appeared to
Abram, and said to him, I am El Shadday: walk before My face, and be perfect“
(Gen. 17:1). How can anyone — even GOD — command any of us to be perfect? „YHWH
looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see
if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God. They have all gone
astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that does good, no, not even one“ (Psalm 14:2-3). The reason is: El
Shadday is perfect in holiness, and He makes us holy, as He says: „and you
shall sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy“ P• 345 (Lev.
He gave Abram a new
name Abraham and concluded a covenant with him and his seed of circumcision ® a NEW MAN.
שדי Shadday
appears to come from an old Semitic root šdd “strong, powerful, forceful;
vigorous” (see note); and אל El,
originally personal Name of GOD, means “strength, power.” He describes Himself
as a roaring Lion, like flashing lightning. (See notes)
The numerical values,
however, open a perspective of glory:

„Thou wilt keep in perfect peace the mind stayed on you, for he confides in you. Confide in
YHWH for ever; for in Yah, YHWH, is the Rock of Ages“ (Isa. 26:3-4).
„He that dwells in the secret place of the
Most High shall abide under the shadow of Shadday. I say of YHWH, My refuge and
my fortress; my God, I will confide in Him. Surely He shall deliver you from
the snare of the fowler, and from the destructive pestilence. He shall cover
you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find refuge: His truth is
a shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid for the terror by night, for the
arrow that flies by day, for the pestilence that walks in darkness, for the
destruction that wasts at noonday. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten
thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come nigh you. Only with your
eyes you shall behold, and see the reward of the wicked. For You, O YHWH, are
my refuge! you have made the Most High your dwelling-place; there shall no evil
befall you, neither shall any plague come nigh your tent“ (Psalm 91:1-10).

Actually, GOD builds
But the LORD told David that not he, but his Son should
build the temple of the LORD. Not Solomon, but that other Son of David, who is
the heart of GOD, shall build the true temple of the Most High.
„Thus speaks YHWH of Hosts, saying, Behold a man whose
name is Branch; and He shall grow up from His own place, and He shall
build the temple of YHWH: even He shall build the temple of YHWH; and He shall
bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a
Priest upon His throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both“
(Zech. 6:12-13).

That is the
characteristic of
Yeshua spoke to His true disciples: „You are the light
of the world: a city situated on the top
of a mountain cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the bushel,
but upon the lamp-stand, and it shines for all who are in the house. Let your light thus shine before men, so that they
may see your upright works, and glorify your Father who is in the heavens“
(Mat.
They have One Head, and in Him they are One in love:
„Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in
unity! Like the precious oil upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, upon
Aaron's beard, that ran down to the hem of his garments; As the dew of Hermon
that descends on the mountains of Zion; for there YHWH has commanded
the blessing, life for evermore“ (Psalm 133). What a wonderful revelation of
the unity of the body of Mashiach, He
our only Head being in our midst, and His Anointing is flowing down on the
members of His body clothed in His righteousness.
El Shadday has only one Word to the rebellious nations who
cast His righteous commandments over board: „I have anointed My King upon

What a glorious promise! This text was precisely fulfilled in
Matthew 21:1-11. Here He came into

one on the right hand and the other on the left. And Yeshua said, Father,
forgive them; for they know not what they do. And parting His garments among them, they cast lots. — The chief
priests also, with the scribes, mocking with one another, said, He saved
others; Himself He cannot save. Let the Mashiach the King of Israel descend now
from the cross, that we may see and may believe. — And when the sixth hour was
come, there came darkness over the whole earth until the ninth hour; and at the
ninth hour, Yeshua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama
sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My GOD, my GOD, why have You forsaken me?
— And Yeshua cried again with a loud voice, and gave up His spirit. And behold,
the veil [paroket] of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom;
and the earth quaked; and the rocks were rent; and the tombs were opened; and
many bodies of the saints that had fallen asleep were raised; and coming forth
out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and
appeared to many. Now the centurion, and they that were with him watching
Yeshua, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared
exceedingly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God“ (Luke 23:33-46; Mat.
27:33-51).
One
thousand years before David prophesied about the sufferings of the Mashiach,
saying: „My GOD, my GOD, why have You forsaken me? — I am a worm, and no
man; a reproach of men, and the despised of the people. All they that see me
laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying: Commit it to
YHWH — let Him rescue Him; let Him deliver Him, because He delights in Him! — I
am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like
wax; it is melted within me. My strength is
dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaves to my jaws; And you have
brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: A company of
evil-doers have inclosed me; they pierced my hands and my feet. I
may count all my bones; They look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them,
and upon my vesture they cast lots“ (Psalm 22:1-18). See how exactly this

Thus
the lightning of the judgment of El Shadday smote His own beloved Son in your
and my stead. If it had hit us we would have been consumed forever. The curse
because of our transgressions was laid on Him, THE RIGHTEOUS ONE, as it is
written: “a curse of GOD is he that is hanged on a tree” (Deut.
Yeshua
is our Lightning Rod, as He Himself
said: „And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must
the Son of Man be lifted up; that whosoever believes may in Him have eternal
life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life“ (John
El
Shadday, the Almighty GOD, has revealed Himself in the „little Lamb that was
slaughtered on

And
here you see His bride, the precious fruit of His sufferings:
His
little Shulammith rejoices: „I am my Beloved’s, and my Beloved is mine: He

Her
prayer is: „Set me as a seal upon Your heart, As a seal upon Your arm: For love
is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as Sheol: The flashes thereof are flashes
of fire, Flames of Yah“ (Song of Songs 8:6).
N• 349 Fire of holy
jealousy, holy zeal.
El Shadday has rightly been translated „the Almighty
God.“ The numerical value, N• 349, however, reveals the secret of His
omnipotence. It is not the strength of Thor hurling his axe, nor the power of
an elephant because it is bigger than others; but it is the jealousy of a lion when someone tries to
ensnare and catch its whelps. Shadday is a Fire of holy jealousy, and of
jealousy for holiness, best expressed in these verses:
„Take
heed to yourself, that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land to
which you shall come, lest it be a snare in the midst of you; but you shall
demolish their altars, shatter their statues, and hew down their Asherahs. For
you shall worship no other god; for YHWH — Jealous is His name — is a jealous
God“ (Ex. 34:12-14). „Take
heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of YHWH your God, which He
made with you, and make a graven image in the form of anything which YHWH your
God has forbidden you. For YHWH your God is a devouring Fire, a jealous
God“ (Deut.
May that zeal burn in us, as it burned in the Lion of
Judah, when He entered the temple of His Father to worship, and found in it
„sellers of oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting; and,
having made a scourge of cords, He cast them all out of the temple, both the
sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the change of the money-changers, and
overturned the tables, and said to the sellers of doves, Take these things
hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. And His disciples
remembered that it is written, The zeal of your house devours me“
(John
If His zeal was so fervent for the temple about which He
prophesied: „Verily I say to you, not a stone shall be
left here upon a stone which shall not be thrown down“ — how much greater is it not for the true temple of the
living GOD, His chosen assembly? as it is written: „Do
you not know that you are the
Should not that holy Fire burn in every disciple of
Yeshua, for „do you not know that your body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God; and you are not
your own? for you have been bought with a price: glorify now then God in your
body“ (1. Kor. 6:19-20). May we cast out every idol and crush it at His feet,
who is sitting on the throne of our heart.
Are we idolaters? What is an idol? Anything which takes
the place of El Shadday in our hearts. He is jealous in His love for His bride.
“Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any
one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because all that is
in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father, but is of the world“ (1. John 2:15-16).
But
what happened? The nations turned their back on righteous El and worshipped
demons, rain “gods” and fertility “goddesses” (= demons), hoping to gain more
produce and profit. Kings of Judah made covenant with the great king of
Marvelous
El, He sent His only Son.

the Son
„For
to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the
government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. Of the
increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne
of David and over His kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with judgment
and with righteousness, from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of YHWH of
hosts will perform this“ (Is. 9:6-7).
What a GIFT
GOD has given us: His only Son. By Him ALL the pleasure of
the LORD is fulfilled.
The Son of GOD is from eternity. „In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things received being through
Him, and without Him not one thing received being which has received being. In
Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of Men“ (John 1:1-4;
Mashiach
is the Son of GOD: „I will declare the decree: YHWH has said to me, You
are My Son; I this day have begotten you. Ask of Me, and I will give
you nations for an inheritance, and for your possession the ends of the earth“
(Ps. 2:7-8).
The
pleasure of GOD always rested upon His
Son: „And it came to pass, all the people having been baptized, and Yeshua
having been baptized and was praying, that the heaven was opened, and the Holy
Spirit descended in a bodily form as a dove upon Him; and a voice came out of
heaven, You are My beloved Son, in you I have found My delight“ (Luke
3:21-22).
On
the holy mountain He was revealed to His disciples as He was praying: „And He
was transfigured before them. And His face shone as the sun, and His garments
became white as the light; and behold, Moshe and Eliahu appeared to them
talking with Him. And Peter answering said to Yeshua, Lord, it is good we
should be here. If you will, let us make here three tabernacles: for you one,
and for Moses one, and one for Elias. While He was still speaking, behold, a
bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight: hear Him“ (Mat.
17:2-5).
Mashiach
is the Servant of the LORD fulfilling all His pleasure: „Behold My Servant whom
I uphold, Mine elect in whom My soul
delights! I will put My Spirit upon Him; He shall bring forth judgment to the
nations“ (Is. 42:1; Mat.
GOD
gave two gifts of love to
1. The Torah, and indeed the Torah is the
radiance of the Mashiach.
2. His own beloved Son.
„Mashiach
is the Completion of the Torah for
Righteousness to every one that believes“ (Rom. 10:4). This is wonderfully
illustrated in the last chapter of the Torah, Deut. 34:4-5, describing the end
of the life of Moshe. Here you find the word TORAH spelled with the ELS of 9,
the number of fruit, (; 34:4, W 14, P 5). Notice the letter written just after each of the
letters of TORAH: YESHUA ; that means the Torah = Yeshua.
No
one ever kept the Torah. Yeshua said to the strictest orthodox teachers of the
Law: „Has not Moses given you the law, and no one of you keeps the law? Why do
you seek to kill me?“ (John 7:19).
Only
One ever kept the Torah, the Son who is the Fulfillment of the Torah. He spoke
to the Jewish lawyers: „Which of you convinces me of sin?“ (John 8:46). Indeed,
they tried diligently, but could not find any sin in His life. But more than
that, He who spoke these words is the Truth, and He knew that there was NO
sin in His life.
“YHWH
had delight [in Mashiach] for His righteousness’ sake: He shall magnify the Torah,
and make it glorious” (Is. 42:21). The Sermon
on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) is the exposition of the Torah, and at the same
time a portrait of our Lord Yeshua. It is the character of the Lamb, and no one
but the Lamb (in us) can fulfill it.
Is it not strange: Yeshua was not killed by
robbers or harlots, but He was seized and condemned to death by the chosen
priests of GOD and teachers of the Torah. This shows us the „righteousness“ of
man!! There is not one righteous, no not even one (Ps. 14:2-3; Rom.
„He was taken from oppression and from judgment; and who
shall declare His generation? for He was cut off out of the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people was he stricken“ — He had no wife, no
children. „Yet it pleased YHWH to bruise Him; He hath subjected Him to
suffering. When You shall make His soul an offering for sin, He
shall see a seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of YHWH
shall prosper in His hand“ (Is. 53:8, 10).
„He
came to His own, and His own received Him not; but as many as received Him, to
them gave He the right to be children of God, to those that
believe on His name; who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor
of man's will, but of God“ (John 1:11-13; 1 John 3:1-2). Thus this prophecy has
been fulfilled: „It shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to
them, You are not my people, it shall be said to them, Sons of the living God, חי
אל בני “ (Hosea 1:10/2:1). What infinite grace!
This
is the mystery of the love of GOD: GOD gave His beloved Son for us, that we may
become the sons and daughters of the living GOD. He was condemned to death for
blasphemy when He confessed that He was the Son of GOD, that we may exult in
our heavenly Father’s love: „For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these
are sons
of God. For you have not received a spirit of bondage again for fear,
but you have received a spirit of sonship, whereby we cry, Abba,
Father. The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are
children of God. And if children, heirs also: heirs of God, and Mashiach's
joint heirs; if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with
Him“ (Romans
This
is GOD’S aim: „Because whom He has foreknown, He has also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son,
so that He should be the Firstborn among many brethren“ (Rom.
How
did the HOLY El Shadday do this miracle of conforming sinners into the image of
His own Son?

This
is the WISDOM of GOD: „One died for all, then all have died“ (2 Cor.
Abram
got a new name, Abraham, when GOD concluded the covenant of circumcision with
him and his seed. A man child
is circumcised when it is eight days old, eight signifying a new righteous
creation.
Now, a little piece of flesh is not enough, because the
whole human character is totally depraved. Again, and again the prophets of
That is a very needful operation, which only El Shadday
can do. He alone is holy and perfect, and He must come into our heart. Then we
are totally changed.
The New Covenant speaks about the circumcision of Mashiach,
which is the putting off of the body of flesh, being buried with Him and being
raised with Him as an entirely new creation (Colossians 2:11-12). That
is the only way to really become a new man. He ALONE, the Risen One, must live
in us.
Everything in the Torah is pointing forward to its
fulfillment in Mashiach.
You
know the tree by its fruit: the fruit of the Spirit. „But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity,
meekness, self-control: against such things there is no law. But they that are
of the Mashiach have crucified the flesh with the passions and
the lusts“ (Gal.

401 the absolutely Righteousness One
“Shadday,
we cannot find Him out: excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance
of justice, He does not oppress” (Job 37:23).
„Him
who knew not sin GOD has made sin for us, that we might become GOD'S
righteousness in Him“ (2 Cor.
Mashiach bears the Name „YHWH
our Righteousness“ (Jer. 23:6). And His bride bears the same name, His
Name, „YHWH our Righteousness“ (Jer. 33:16).
For
as GOD created Eve out of Adam, and for Adam, so „are you in Mashiach Yeshua,
who has been made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness,
and holiness,
and redemption“
(1 Cor.
And
here you see her dressed as a bride for her Bridegroom: „And I heard as a voice
of a great crowd, and as a voice of many waters, and as a voice of strong thunders,
saying, Hallelujah, for the LORD our GOD the Almighty has taken to Himself
kingly power. Let us rejoice and exult, and give Him glory; for the marriage of
the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready. And it was given to her that she should
be clothed in fine linen, bright and pure; for the fine linen is the righteous
deeds of the saints“ (Rev. 19:6-8); „fine linen, bright and pure“ N

Have
you put on this holy garment, which is Mashiach in you, and you in Him, and
nothing else? Colossians 3:12-17.
„When
the Mashiach is manifested who is our Life, then you shall also be
manifested with Him in glory“ (Col. 3:4). Here you see His bride and queen:
„Upon your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ophir“ — entirely in
Mashiach! „All glorious is the King's daughter within; her clothing is of wrought
gold“ (Psalm 45:9, 13).
„El,
Elohim-YHWH, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the
going down thereof. Out of
That
is the message of the holy Name of El Shadday, the revelation of the mystery of
His heart. Not only that El Shadday is Holy and Righteous, but He changes the
worst of sinners into His Righteousness by Yeshua, the Fulfillment of the
Torah. Only trust in Him. He speaks to you and me: „I am El Shadday: walk before My face, and be perfect.“
