YHWH Yiräh, "YHWH Sees"

יראה  יהוה

The name YHWH Yiräh, "Yahweh Sees" (Gen. 22:14), gives us an insight into the heart of GOD, what GOD is seeing and having in mind.

I met a Jew in a Jewish bookstore. He said: “The greatest in the Tanach is Genesis 22, where Abraham sacrificed his son Isaac to the LORD.” Then he recited this whole chapter in Hebrew by heart. Yes, that is indeed the greatest in the Tanach; but it is only a foreshadowing of the Father in heaven who sacrificed His only, beloved Son for our salvation. God tested the love of Abraham, — on Golgotha the Father has proven His love to us. There is no way to avoid Golgotha — some go right, others turn left.

GOD had promised Abraham a son by Sarah, but he had to wait till he was 100, and Sarah 90, years old, till GOD’S time had come. How Abraham cared for his beloved son, watching that nothing may harm him. Always he thanked GOD for His wonderful gift, “in whom all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.”

One day GOD said to Abraham: “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, even Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of” (Gen. 22:2). Here the word “love” occurs the first time in the Bible; and here love is defined.

A sword pierced the heart of Abraham at these words. He did not understand GOD. But he knew that GOD is true. Without a word, Abraham saddled his donkey and set out early in the morning with Isaac and two servants to go to the land of Moriah.

On the third day they came to the place, and Abraham said to his servants: “Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship and return to you.”

P 62 = 2 × 31 =  בני  My Son

Isaac asked his father, "Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt‑offering?  Abraham looked up to heaven and answered, ‘GOD will provide Himself with the lamb for a burnt‑offering:  My Son’" Genesis 22:8.

GOD spared the son of Abraham, but He did not spare His own, beloved Son, His one and all, but gave Him as a sacrifice for our sins.  Yeshua is the true Passover Lamb which saves us from the wrath of GOD.

Isaac would have been instantly killed, having no pain; but what the only Son of GOD suffered hanging on His nails upon the Cross for six long hours, that no mortal can describe.  We see the physical pain, but infinitely greater was His spiritual agony of being forsaken by GOD, smitten by the rod of His wrath (Lam. 3:1‑3. Psa. 22).

The righteous Judge of the whole universe cannot bend judgment. The sinner must die (Romans 3:23; 6:23).  But now another one, your Neighbor, the righteous Son of GOD, has suffered our penalty in our stead.  By His mercy we are delivered from our death sentence IF we accept Him.  Else there will be no escape for ever.

Two sons stood before judgment:  Yeshua and Bar Abbas = "son of the father."  "Whom will you that I release to you, Barabbas, or Yeshua, the Mashiach," Pilate asked the people.  They answered, "Barabbas," and Barabbas was a murderer and rebel.  "What then shall I do with Yeshua, the Mashiach?"  They all said, "Let Him be crucified."  And the governor said, "What evil then has He done?"  But they cried more than ever, "Let Him be crucified."

Thus the Righteous died in sinners' stead, that we by His Blood might be saved and clothed in His righteousness.

Abraham had already lifted his knife to slaughter his son, when the Angel of Yahweh (who was he?) cried to him, "Stretch not out your hand against the lad, neither do anything to him; for now I know that you fear GOD, and have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me."  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt‑offering instead of his son.

This ram behind Abraham is HE who spoke, "Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58).

HE is the Lamb without blemish and without spot, who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but who has been manifested at the end of times for our sakes (1 Peter 1:19‑20).  By His righteous Blood alone we are saved from the wrath of GOD, and become sons of our Father in heaven.

"HE was led as a Lamb to the slaughter, and was as a sheep dumb before its shearers, yea HE opened not His mouth   YHWH has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all; for the transgression of my people was HE stricken" (Is. 53:7-8). That day there was no angel from heaven who held back the Father's knife.

N 242 = 2 × 112  the Son highly lifted up

Now, this is heart‑breaking!  What the Father in heaven has been suffering, seeing His beloved Son hanging upon the Cross.  When David got the news of his son Absalom hanging on the tree pierced with spears, he wept in the upper chamber of the gate:  "O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would GOD I had died in your stead, O Absalom, my son, my son!" (2 Sam.18:33).

So great is the love of GOD to you, that He let His beloved Son Yeshua suffer this in your stead, that you may accept Him and be saved.

The curse of GOD for our sins came upon Him, GOD'S innocent Son, as HE was hanging upon the Cross; for it is written, "A curse of GOD is one hanged on a tree" (Deut. 21:23; Gal. 3:13).  HE is our LIGHTNING ROD.  The fire of GOD'S righteous judgment flashed into Him, and we are saved if we repent of our sins calling upon His Name.  If we do not repent now, be sure of the surest thing in the world, you will soon stand before the righteous judgment seat of GOD.  Only because you did not accept His pardon, you will be judged righteously without mercy in the lake of fire, as GOD's Word says (Rev. 20:11‑15).

R 180  He is risen — and we with Him!

Abraham knew that he must slaughter his son. But how would GOD’S promise be fulfilled? He believed GOD. “He counted that God is able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence he did also in a figure receive him back” (Hebr. 11:19).

After Yeshua had been buried, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate and asked him to guard the tomb where Yeshua had been laid. So Pilate appointed a guard to watch the tomb by day and night, and he sealed the stone closing the entrance. But after three days, suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the LORD descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. His appearance was as lightning, and his raiment white as snow: and for fear of him the watchers quaked, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not; for I know that you seek Yeshua, who has been crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, even as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay” (Mat. 28:2-6).

Again and again our Lord Yeshua appeared to His disciples after His resurrection. Then He led them up on the Mount of Olives, blessed them and ascended up to heaven before their eyes.

Thus GOD has justified His Son, because there was NO sin in Him. “I have set YHWH always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; my flesh also shall dwell in safety. For You wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; neither will You suffer Your Holy One(s) to see corruption” (Psalm 16:8-10).

God has raised Him up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that He should be held by its power, and He has seated Him at His right hand, making Him Lord over all (Acts 2:24-33).

Yeshua spoke: “I Am the Resurrection, and the Life: he who believes on me, though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever lives and believes on me shall never die” (John 11:25-26). What glorious reality!

HE died for our sins, but arose for our justification (Rom. 4:25). This is GOD's logic judgment:  "One died for all, therefore all have died!"  And Mashiach arose, that we, who have accepted His death in our stead, may be a new creation, raised with Him from the dead.  “So if any one is in Mashiach, he is a new creation;  the old things have passed away; behold all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:14‑17).

A true Christian can state in truth: “I have been crucified with Mashiach; and it is no longer I that live, but Mashiach living in me” (Gal. 2:20). — We are raised up with Him to eternal Life. That is the true body and assembly of Mashiach. “Here is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Mashiach is all, and in all” (Col. 3:11). This is GOD’S world wonder. This phrase “but Mashiach is all, and in all” has the numerical value of 2401 = 7*7*7*7  highest divine perfection.

And as Yeshua ascended up to heaven, we shall soon be caught up to heavenly Jerusalem (Phil. 3:20-21; 1 Thess. 4:16-18; 2 Cor. 15:51-52).

S  304 = 24 * 19  the Lamb is our Righteousness

HE, the only Righteous, suffered for our sins, that we may become the Righteousness of GOD in Him (2 Cor. 5:21).  For Mashiach is GOD'S Wisdom, our Righteousness, Holiness, and Redemption (1 Cor. 1:30). Amen, “YHWH our Righteousness.”

GOD never undertakes to make the old man holy. No, He has pronounced and executed the death sentence on the old man, when Yeshua died in our stead on Golgotha. GOD will never accept the old flesh, no matter whether he is a president, director, professor, or whatever he may be. Amalek must die! (Ex. 17:16).

No, we are an entirely new creation, raised up in His wonderful Son, and GOD will see His Son alone in us. “For whom He foreknew, He also foreordained to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren” (Rom. 8:29). “For it became Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Hebr. 2:10-11).

Out of Jews and heathens we have been made ONE NEW MAN in Yeshua Mashiach by His cross (Eph. 2:15-16). Him, and only Him, the Father will see in you!

YHWH Yiräh “YHWH sees.” These eight letters describe a new creation.  The LORD will only see the Lamb in us, and nothing else.

Fall into your Father's arms! (Luke 15:20).
